"Audio editing just didn’t really work for me"
I don’t know, the audio editing sounded kind of off every time I tried it. Like, the cuts kept coming out choppy and not very natural, so it just didn’t feel usable for what I needed.

"Descript made my project way harder than expected"
I used Descript for a project and ran into a bunch of issues that slowed me down more than I expected. Support was okay at best, but it felt like it took a while to get any real help. After spending what felt like several extra hours trying to sort things out, I just couldn’t justify a better rating. Giving it 1 star because it made the whole process much more frustrating than it should have been

"Publishing mostly works, integrations are a bit hit or miss"
I’ve been using it for a while now — since maybe late spring or early summer, I can’t remember exactly. Overall it’s been good enough for what I need, and publishing usually works fine. That said, it does glitch every now and then, and some of the integrations feel kind of inconsistent. Not a dealbreaker, but definitely a little frustrating sometimes

"Team collaboration got confusing fast"
I tried using it with my team, but the whole collaboration process felt messy. Comments and edits were hard to keep track of, and after a little while we just stopped trying to make it work. it left me feeling more frustrated than productive

"Used to feel smoother, now it’s a bit clunky"
I really like the idea of being able to edit video by editing the text, and it used to feel a bit better to me. Lately though, it’s been clunky. The cuts don’t always land where I expect them to, and once I’m working with anything more than a really simple clip, the timeline starts getting confusing. Exporting was slow for me too, and a couple times the audio and video looked slightly out of sync. It’s not awful, but I was expecting the whole editing process to feel a lot smoother.

"Cool idea, but it slowed me down"
I really liked the idea of editing by text at first, and I can see how it might be great for certain workflows. But for me, it kept making awkward cuts or changing things in ways I didn’t expect. By the time I fixed everything, it took longer than just editing the usual way.

"It worked fine at first, but once I…"
It worked fine at first, but once I started doing longer recordings, the lag really started to show up. I kept having to wait it out like I had no choice, which got frustrating after a while. Not terrible, but definitely not as smooth as I expected.

"Support got back faster than I expected"
I was having trouble getting my project to export correctly, so I reached out to Descript support. I can’t remember if I messaged them late that day or the next morning, but either way they got back to me quickly. The first reply helped, though I still had to send one follow-up because I was a little confused about one of the steps. After that, it was sorted and my export worked. Not perfect, but still a good support experience overall. Would’ve been 5 stars if the first response had been a bit clearer.

"Spent More Time Fixing Names Than Expected"
I ended up having to fix names a lot more than I thought I would. It wasn’t the end of the world, but it did get kind of annoying after a while, especially when I just wanted to get through it quickly. Maybe I’m picky about spelling and formatting, i’m the same person who reorganizes a messy junk drawer once and then forgets about it for six months, but this definitely slowed me down a bit.

"Studio Sound Didn’t Work for Me"
I tried descript mainly for the Studio Sound feature, and to be fair, it did remove the background noise well. But my voice ended up sounding kind of weird and robotic, like it wasn’t really me anymore. The audio felt too fake to use, so I ended up redoing everything in another app. it was frustrating.

"Descript was almost unusable for me..."
Descript was almost unusable for me. It kept freezing, crashing mid-edit, and sometimes took forever just to load a project. I wasted way too much time restarting the app over and over lol. Super frustrating when you’re just trying to finish a simple video ASAP.

"Editing was fine, but export quality missed the mark"
The editing part was easy to use, and I didn’t really have issues putting my video together. But once I exported it, the quality just wasn’t there. The video looked a little blurry and the audio felt slightly out of sync or just off somehow. After spending time working on it, that was frustrating. I was expecting it to come out more like..

"I tried to stick with it..."
I tried to stick with it, but the processing was so slow that I ended up giving up on editing. Maybe I’m missing something, but it feels like rendering takes way longer than it should...

I use Descript on two different laptops and the cloud sync has been mostly smooth for me. Managing storage is straightforward too, which I appreciate. I just wish uploads were a little faster sometimes, but yeah

"Am I the Only One Who Got Charged After Canceling?"
Am I the only one this happened to? I canceled my subscription and still ended up getting charged anyway. I reached out to support, but it took way longer than I expected to get a response. Frustrating experience overall.

"Wanted to like it, but the setup frustrated me"
I jumped into Descript thinking, “Oh nice, this should be easy,” but quickly I was like, wait… what am I supposed to click first? The onboarding felt kind of all over the place with too many popups popping up at once. Some parts looked simple enough, but then I hit a wall trying to import my files and got annoyed faster than I expected. Maybe it gets smoother once you’re past the first setup, but my first impression was definitely not great

"The editor itself is actually good…"
The editor itself is actually good and easy to use, but I got a bit of a bait-and-switch feeling once I started looking into the privacy settings and how my data might be used. Those details felt vague and not as transparent as I expected. I wanted to like it more, but that part made me hesitate

"I mainly tried Descript for the…"
I mainly tried Descript for the Overdub and voice cloning features, i’m a little mixed on it. Setup was simple, so maybe my expectations were just too high, but the results weren’t always as smooth as I hoped. When it works, it’s really handy for fixing a small line here and there without re-recording everything. But sometimes the voice sounds kind of flat, and certain words come out strangely enough that I ended up redoing more than I thought I would. I can see it being useful for quick edits, but I’m not sure I’d trust it yet for a fully polished project. It’s not bad at all, just not quite there for me

"I’m a bit biased because I already like…"
I’m a bit biased because I already like tools that save me editing time, but Descript feels fairly priced for what it offers. A few of the limits can be annoying, and I do wish some things were more flexible, but overall it’s saved me both time and money. For the kind of work I do, it’s been worth keeping around...

"Descript definitely seems like a powerful tool, and…"
Descript definitely seems like a powerful tool, and I can see why people like it. But getting comfortable with it took me way longer than I expected. I found myself getting frustrated even with basic edits, which made the whole process feel heavier than it needed to be. It reminded me that a tool can have a lot of potential, but if the learning curve gets in the way, it can be hard to appreciate that potential at first.
